The referee ignored Visby RK's protests and gave Rutger Hylander a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Hammerdal booed when Visby RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rutger Hylander didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valdemar Malmgren during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee gave Visby RK a penalty, 24 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jonathan Billock, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Hammerdal's Rune Browall. 1-0. In the 27th minute, Manfred Malmberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Visby RK's Tommy Beckman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfred Malmberg in the 68th minute of play. Rudolf Brovall charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rudolf Brovall the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
