The audience was convinced that Uno Dahlkvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Börje Johansson was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Göran Billock kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dag Rosen. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. A hard shot by Fritz Dalkvist from long distance, 11 minutes into the match, got Dag Rosen's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Göran Billock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 22 played minutes Hyssna BK got a freekick which was hit by Göran Billock. If Kenneth Zander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. Kenneth Zander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Billy Olofsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Börje Johansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Markus Svanberg was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 46th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Börje Johansson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Öfverman, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Göran Billock made the kick off in the second half. When Kevin Öfverman came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Nyåker IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kevin Öfverman couldn't finish the play. Kevin Öfverman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Börje Johansson having to interfere. Alf Wållander hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Börje Johansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uno Dahlkvist in the 94th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
