Elliot Ahlén showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simon Vall, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. If Kent Dahlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Årsta FF getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Kjell-Arne Bergström hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the game, Joachim Hasselqvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Nässjö's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Årsta FF the free kick. The supporters of Årsta FF booed when Nässjö was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joachim Hasselqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Simon Vall, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 37 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Elliot Ahlén was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Fredrik Hjeltman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elliot Ahlén having to interfere. Fredrik Hjeltman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 43 played minutes Nässjö got a freekick which was hit by Joachim Hasselqvist. Fredrik Hjeltman struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bengt-Arne Nyström made a kick off. In the 54th minute of the match Michel Malm sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elliot Ahlén skillfully saved the ball. When Fredrik Hjeltman came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Årsta FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fredrik Hjeltman couldn't finish the play. 60 minutes into the match, Nässjö's goal looked a bit too open when Fredrik Hjeltman came free, but Elliot Ahlén reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nässjö's Elliot Ahlén played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Vall in the 61st minute of play. Bengt-Arne Nyström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Östen Holmgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Östen Holmgren made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Kent Dahlberg sent off a good shot on target. Årsta FF's Simon Vall got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Årsta FF's zone, Kent Dahlberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Östen Holmgren came out of the goal and Kent Dahlberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Bengt-Arne Nyström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute, Bengt-Arne Nyström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 92 minutes into the match, Fredrik Hjeltman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elliot Ahlén. Nässjö's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fredrik Hjeltman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Kent Dahlberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nässjö's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
