Ankarsrum's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mariefred BF the free kick. After 8 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ankarsrum! Nils-Erik Söderström went to the wrong direction when Jens-Ove Eklund was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After 12 played minutes Ludwig Fastesson rounded Ankarsrum's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Ludwig Fastesson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kenny Johnssons short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Nils-Erik Söderström to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Nils-Erik Söderström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ludwig Fastesson in the 17th minute of play. Elliott Kvalfält came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Ankarsrum's Axel Bank. But to his dismay, Axel Bank quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, Ankarsrum's Johnny Carlberg got a free kick in the 25th minute. Mariefred BF's Kenny Johnsson got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Kenny Johnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Mariefred BF's Tomas Alstedt got a free kick in the 38th minute. Johnny Carlberg's late challenge caught a Mariefred BF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Johnny Carlberg helped the player get up and apologised. Johnny Carlberg kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ludwig Fastesson to make the kick off. Johnny Carlberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ulf Högström took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 53rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Elliott Kvalfält. Mariefred BF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kenny Johnsson in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nils-Erik Söderström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Axel Bank could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Elliott Kvalfält made a huge save. When Ludwig Fastesson came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Mariefred BF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ludwig Fastesson couldn't finish the play. Christian Galle kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Axel Bank could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Elliott Kvalfält made a huge save. After 70 played minutes Ankarsrum got a freekick which was hit by Per-Olof Gummeson. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mariefred BF's goalkeeper Elliott Kvalfält, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Mariefred BF's zone, Per-Olof Gummeson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elliott Kvalfält came out of the goal and Per-Olof Gummeson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st minute Sven-Ove Lingren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nils-Erik Söderström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per-Olof Gummeson in the 83rd minute of play forced Mariefred BF's goalkeeper Elliott Kvalfält to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Ankarsrum supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ankarsrum would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
