The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Michel Henriksson during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 3 played minutes Smedstorp got a freekick which was hit by Michel Henriksson. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Claes Ivarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Osby FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Claes Ivarsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mathias Lägdin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kim Lindgren struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Jan-Erik Berggren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Smedstorp. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kim Lindgren in the 22nd minute of play forced Osby FF's goalkeeper Jan-Erik Berggren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Claes Ivarsson came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Osby FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claes Ivarsson couldn't finish the play. In the 28th minute Jan-Olof Lång shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Lägdin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kim Lindgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Jan-Erik Berggren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anton Berglund hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute Kim Lindgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Erik Berggren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Patrik Wickanders short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Jan-Erik Berggren to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jan-Olof Lång fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathias Lägdin having to interfere. Karl-Erik Kellbom hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 58 minutes into the match, Smedstorp's goal looked a bit too open when Claes Ivarsson came free, but Mathias Lägdin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After recieving a nice pass, Osby FF's Arman Kinnman tried to score from far away in the 62nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 67th match minute, Smedstorp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Nilsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute, Claes Ivarsson made a precise shot to the right of Mathias Lägdin. Smedstorp's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After some careless play in the Osby FF defense, Kim Lindgren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jan-Erik Berggren. The Osby FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jan-Erik Berggren should have stopped the shot.
