Hölö IK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. When Mikael Linberg came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Laholm IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mikael Linberg couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Laholm IFK booed when Hölö IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Greger Dalman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute of the match Laholm IFK got a corner. Hölö IK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Karl Vennerdal ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Osvald Öberg heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roy Smedfeldt in the 21st minute of play forced Hölö IK's goalkeeper Kjell-Arne Kvarnström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ludvig Classon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Roger Sundberg went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. When Roy Smedfeldt came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Laholm IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roy Smedfeldt couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Laholm IFK's Nils-Erik Harlén got a free kick in the 31st minute. The supporters of Hölö IK booed when Laholm IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roy Smedfeldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute of the match, Zebastian Nordlander got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ludvig Classon was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Roy Smedfeldt took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kjell-Arne Kvarnström. Kjell-Arne Kvarnström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Roger Sundberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kjell-Arne Kvarnström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roy Smedfeldt in the 53rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Hölö IK's zone, Roy Smedfeldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kjell-Arne Kvarnström came out of the goal and Roy Smedfeldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jens-Ove Holmgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st match minute, Hölö IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Tillman to maneuver through the defense. Kjell-Arne Kvarnström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roy Smedfeldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 70 played minutes, Laholm IFK's Karl Vennerdal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kjell-Arne Kvarnström came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Laholm IFK reached it. Greger Dalman hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Kjell-Arne Kvarnström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roy Smedfeldt in the 73rd minute of play. Roy Smedfeldt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kjell-Arne Kvarnström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Jens-Ove Holmgren might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kjell-Arne Kvarnström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jens-Ove Holmgren ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 77th minute, Hölö IK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jens-Ove Holmgren fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Jens-Ove Holmgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kjell-Arne Kvarnström having to interfere. Greger Dalman hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute, Michael Engström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kjell-Arne Kvarnström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roy Smedfeldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Laholm IFK could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hölö IK throughout the match.
