Torgny Sundström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hampus Eskilsson having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Johanneshov's goal looked a bit too open when Fritz Askberg came free, but Torsten Wester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Johanneshov's Torsten Wester got control of the ball when Boris Joensson tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Torgny Sundström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Torsten Wester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fritz Askberg in the 20th minute of play. Isac Bergvall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Isac Bergvall sped through Grimslöv's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hampus Eskilsson. Boris Joensson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Torsten Wester made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torgny Sundström in the 36th minute of play forced Grimslöv's goalkeeper Hampus Eskilsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 played minutes Grimslöv got a freekick which was hit by Erik Granström. The supporters of Johanneshov booed when Grimslöv was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Apelquist didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Torgny Sundström came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Johanneshov fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Torgny Sundström couldn't finish the play. If Isac Bergvall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Fritz Askberg made the kick off in the second half.
