Rune Björnberg made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Jens-Ola Bennet sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Helge Vedholm during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 10th minute, Helge Vedholm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patrik Vassenius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egon Mellbad, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Egon Mellbad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Patrik Vassenius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Tor Söderqwist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dyltabruk RK's supporters rose to their feet, but Tor Söderqwist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rune Björnberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dyltabruk RK's Jens-Ola Bennet got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 24 in the game by Jens-Ola Bennet from a close distance when the talented Rune Björnberg managed to make a qualified save. Överum IK's players were relieved. After having played for 30 minutes, Tor Söderqwist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dyltabruk RK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tor Söderqwist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jens-Ola Bennet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 37 minutes into the game, Tor Söderqwist recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rune Björnberg. Tor Söderqwist showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 2-0 became the score in the 42nd minute when Jens-Ola Bennet elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Christer Pettersson kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. In the 49th minute of the match, Tor Söderqwist tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rune Björnberg saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.

The wind increased when Tor Söderqwist made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Överum IK's goal looked a bit too open when Tor Söderqwist came free, but Rune Björnberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Egon Mellbad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Patrik Vassenius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Patrik Vassenius made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sten Lång in the 64th minute. Börge Sillén sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 78 minutes into the game, Jens-Ola Bennet cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Rune Björnberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Dyltabruk RK's Patrik Vassenius got control of the ball when Egon Mellbad tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 85th minute Jens-Ola Bennet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Björnberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Dyltabruk RK getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Tor Söderqwist hit a great ball. Rune Björnberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tor Söderqwist went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Dyltabruk RK's Patrik Vassenius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Börge Sillén in the 92nd minute of play. If Tor Söderqwist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Överum IK's Egon Mellbad got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dyltabruk RK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
