The audience was convinced that Patrik Nyström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgar Vik was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Edgar Vik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrik Nyström in the 13th minute of the match. Karl-Johan Nordin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Aspabruk's zone, Jörn Kellman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ola Mattsson came out of the goal and Jörn Kellman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jarl Vennerberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ola Mattsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. After 18 played minutes Aspabruk got a freekick which was hit by Kasper Eriksson. In the 19th minute, Jörn Kellman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jarl Vennerberg took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ola Mattsson. Ola Mattsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 28th minute, Folke Håning hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the match, Hjorted's Olle Brodin broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 31st minute Jörn Kellman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ola Mattsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgar Vik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Johan Nordin, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Hjorted's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Johan Nordin came free, but Edgar Vik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The attack was good, but when Patrik Nyström in the 48th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Karl-Johan Nordin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Karl-Johan Nordin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aspabruk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Johan Nordin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 56 minutes into the game, Kasper Eriksson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aspabruk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hjorted the free kick. After 57 played minutes Aspabruk got a freekick which was hit by Kasper Eriksson. When Kurt Benet fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hjorted's protests and gave Kurt Benet a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Aspabruk booed when Hjorted was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Benet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hjorted's Edgar Vik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Johan Nordin in the 71st minute of play. Ola Mattsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarl Vennerberg in the 80th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Aspabruk's zone, Jörn Kellman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ola Mattsson came out of the goal and Jörn Kellman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jarl Vennerberg kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Jörn Kellman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Jörn Kellman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aspabruk's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
