Grönahög IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kent Thidén was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jerry Gudmundsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Göran Hultstrand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olof Larsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bo Ahlén showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kent Thidén, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After 38 minutes, Casper Norberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grönahög IK and the Fruängen FF players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th minute, Casper Norberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 39 played minutes, Fruängen FF's Lucas Örtendal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Göran Hultstrand came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fruängen FF reached it. Kasper Holmberg hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Fruängen FF's Lucas Örtendal couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 41st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Grönahög IK. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the match, Kent Thidén had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bo Ahlén. Fruängen FF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kent Thidén was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kent Thidén stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustaf Danielsson in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Göran Hultstrand saved Grönahög IK from getting behind. When the match had been going on for 70 minutes, Fruängen FF's Lucas Örtendal got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Göran Hultstrand. Olof Larsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bo Ahlén having to interfere. The supporters of Fruängen FF booed when Grönahög IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kent Moberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Göran Hultstrand managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when Fruängen FF's Lars Ambjörnsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Göran Hultstrand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaf Danielsson in the 93rd minute of play. The Fruängen FF players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
