Knut Thidén received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Michael Högberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Björköby IFK getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Ingvar Boman hit a great ball. Michael Högberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Knut Thidén in the 22nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Alexander Larsfelt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Michael Högberg was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Kaj Magnusson hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Björköby IFK's Sture Lövskog got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Knut Thidén in the 34th minute of play forced Björköby IFK's goalkeeper Michael Högberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Sixten Tingelholm sped through Björköby IFK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Michael Högberg. Malmö FF's Andy Pettersson got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Michael Högberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andy Pettersson, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexander Larsfelt in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Michael Högberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Andy Pettersson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Michael Högberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 47 minutes, Kenny Beneth mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Björköby IFK and the Malmö FF players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Malmö FF booed when Björköby IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kenny Beneth didn't get a good kick on the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Olle Siöman to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Malmö FF's goal looked a bit too open when Olle Siöman came free, but Jon Gustafsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonatan Ferm kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the game, Alexander Larsfelt lined in a short shot 0-2 behind a frustrated Michael Högberg. In the 65th match minute, Malmö FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ludvig Vestberg to maneuver through the defense. 67 minutes into the match, Malmö FF's goal looked a bit too open when Alf Eklund came free, but Jon Gustafsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Knut Thidén managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malmö FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Knut Thidén was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michael Högberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 78th minute, Malmö FF's Knut Thidén dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. Knut Thidén sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andy Pettersson might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michael Högberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andy Pettersson ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Björköby IFK's Michael Högberg got control of the ball when Knut Thidén tried to sneak it across the goal line. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andy Pettersson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
