The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Ralf Alfors came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Österskär fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ralf Alfors couldn't finish the play. 4 minutes into the game, Ivar Bern cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Evert Björklund was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ralf Alfors recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Njurunda's Gösta Qvalfeldt couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 13th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Österskär. Evert Björklund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivar Bern in the 20th minute of the match. If Lars Damm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bo Hamberg hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Gösta Qvalfeldt didn't quite understand what happened when in the 26 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Österskär's Evert Björklund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Damm in the 28th minute of play. In the 31st minute Ivar Bern shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evert Björklund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lars Damm in the 32nd minute of play forced Österskär's goalkeeper Evert Björklund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jörgen Lindmark kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 34th minute of the match Gösta Qvalfeldt sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Evert Björklund skillfully saved the ball. 36 minutes into the game, Lars Damm cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Evert Björklund was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Ralf Alfors managed to get in a good position for a shot. Österskär's supporters rose to their feet, but Ralf Alfors was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johannes Hedvall breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Njurunda's Ivar Bern got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Evert Björklund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Damm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tony Sjöberg was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Österskär's goalkeeper Evert Björklund had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivar Bern. Lars Damm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcus Sjögren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Evert Björklund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Njurunda would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
