Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jörgen Bock started the match with the kick off. After 2 played minutes Mariestad FK got a freekick which was hit by Kjell Samuelsson. Mariestad FK's Rune Benett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jörgen Bock in the 5th minute of play. When Peter Dalgren came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Mariestad FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Dalgren couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute, Nils-Åke Dusett got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Olof Tunberg's late challenge caught a Mariestad FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olof Tunberg helped the player get up and apologised. After 23 played minutes Hede IFK got a freekick which was hit by Olof Tunberg. A collision led to Mariestad FK getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Sven-Arne Svensson hit a great ball. After 26 minutes, Kurt Enegren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mariestad FK and the Hede IFK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 27 played minutes Mariestad FK got a freekick which was hit by Kurt Enegren. Rune Benett acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 27th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jim Rosen. Peter Dalgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Ferm having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Nils-Åke Dusett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. André Ferm was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In a very dangerous position, a player in Hede IFK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Peter Dalgren to make the kick off. If Nils-Åke Dusett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute there was a penalty for Hede IFK. Jim Rosen stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rune Benett. 1-2. In the 64th match minute, Mariestad FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kjell Samuelsson to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 65 minutes, Jörgen Bock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hede IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jörgen Bock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kurt Enegren was shown his second yellow card after 67 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 68th minute, Kurt Enegren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute, Jörgen Bock got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Georg Brun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rune Benett having to interfere. If Rune Nyqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Hede IFK's zone, Peter Dalgren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Ferm came out of the goal and Peter Dalgren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 84 minutes into the game, Rune Nyqvist recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of André Ferm. Rune Nyqvist showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. 93 minutes into the match, Mariestad FK's goal looked a bit too open when Jörgen Bock came free, but Rune Benett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Mariestad FK left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Hede IFK.
