Though ot was a great shot Red Army FC's keeper Torbjörn Olofsson was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. When Nils-Erik Grelsson fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Red Army FC's protests and gave Nils-Erik Grelsson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute, Nils-Erik Grelsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vrena FF's Roger Löfdahl couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 9th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Red Army FC. When Evert Larsfelt came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Red Army FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evert Larsfelt couldn't finish the play. Mattias Sundberg received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Torbjörn Olofsson came out and tried to block the shot, but Mattias Sundberg slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. Nils-Erik Grelsson hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After 22 played minutes, Vrena FF's Roger Löfdahl shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Torbjörn Olofsson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vrena FF reached it. If Evert Larsfelt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Robin Uggla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute, Olle Säv hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Torbjörn Olofsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mattias Sundberg in the 29th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Vrena FF's zone, Evert Larsfelt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerry Backman came out of the goal and Evert Larsfelt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nils-Erik Grelsson struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Jerry Backman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Red Army FC. 35 minutes into the match, Evert Larsfelt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jerry Backman. Vrena FF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Evert Larsfelt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Vrena FF's Jerry Backman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evert Larsfelt in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mattias Sundberg in the 44th minute of play forced Red Army FC's goalkeeper Torbjörn Olofsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Evert Larsfelt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red Army FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Evert Larsfelt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jerry Backman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 48 minutes, Nils-Erik Hedbom mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vrena FF and the Red Army FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Vrena FF getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Nils-Erik Hedbom hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mattias Sundberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Evert Larsfelt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerry Backman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 59 minutes, Mattias Sundberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vrena FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mattias Sundberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 62 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Red Army FC! After a rather tough play, Vrena FF's Simon Carlsson got a free kick in the 67th minute. Torbjörn Olofsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mattias Sundberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 71 minutes into the match, Red Army FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mattias Sundberg came free, but Torbjörn Olofsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olle Säv charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Olle Säv the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Red Army FC's Olle Säv got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Vrena FF were victorious despite being under pressure from Red Army FC for much of the match.
