The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Varnhem's goal looked a bit too open when Anton Isaksson came free, but Per-Åke Mogren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, Varnhem's goalkeeper Per-Åke Mogren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Håkan Åkerberg. Leonardo Hellström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sonny Österlund having to interfere. Sonny Österlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johannes Wenerdahl in the 11th minute of the match. In the 12th minute, Axel Fanström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stig Jönsson was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 13th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Johannes Wenerdahl fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sonny Österlund having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anton Isaksson in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Per-Åke Mogren saved Varnhem from getting behind. Varnhem's Per-Åke Mogren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anton Isaksson in the 25th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Lyrestad's goal looked a bit too open when Johannes Wenerdahl came free, but Sonny Österlund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute of the match, Anton Isaksson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Per-Åke Mogren saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Varnhem's Johannes Wenerdahl got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 42 minutes into the game, Varnhem's Johannes Wenerdahl nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sonny Österlund made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Sonny Österlund came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Varnhem's Johannes Wenerdahl. But to his dismay, Johannes Wenerdahl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After the first half Varnhem were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Anton Isaksson made the kick off in the second half. Per-Åke Mogren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Håkan Åkerberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute, Anton Isaksson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lyrestad's Sonny Österlund proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Lyrestad from getting a goal against them. Johannes Wenerdahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 0-3 became the score in the 61st minute when Leonardo Hellström elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Varnhem's Stig Jönsson got a free kick in the 65th minute. Leonardo Hellström who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Sonny Österlund when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 74 minutes into the match, Varnhem's Johannes Wenerdahl sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sonny Österlund narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leonardo Göransson kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. If Johannes Wenerdahl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 85 minutes, Johannes Wenerdahl made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Lyrestad's Sonny Österlund tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Per-Åke Mogren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Håkan Åkerberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Per-Åke Mogren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anton Isaksson in the 94th minute of the match. 96 minutes into the match, Lyrestad's Håkan Åkerberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Per-Åke Mogren narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
