The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Joel Pihl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Casper Deckberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hannes Ahlén sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aaron Zander hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hannes Ahlén in the 28th minute of play forced Vetlanda's goalkeeper Casper Deckberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victor Granqvist came free with the goalkeeper in the 30th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Benjamin Hellkvist could save by the left post. In the 32nd minute, Victor Granqvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 36 played minutes Vetlanda got a freekick which was hit by Rickard Lindholm. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hannes Ahlén in the 39th minute of play forced Vetlanda's goalkeeper Casper Deckberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Casper Deckberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Pihl in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th minute, Hannes Ahlén got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aaron Zander hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Åkarp FK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Roger Hermansson in the 48th minute. The corner ended in Roger Hermansson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Vetlanda's Casper Deckberg did a great save. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Vetlanda's Casper Deckberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Vetlanda from getting a goal against them. In the 57th minute, Åkarp FK's Manfred Alebeck dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. Manfred Alebeck's late challenge caught a Vetlanda's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manfred Alebeck helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Åkarp FK getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Manfred Alebeck hit a great ball. When Magnus Trillkott fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Åkarp FK's protests and gave Magnus Trillkott a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd minute, Magnus Trillkott hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Vetlanda getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Brian Bocklund hit a great ball. Casper Deckberg didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 67th minute, which inside left pole to 0-2. Åkarp FK played a much better game than Vetlanda and deserved their victory. The Vetlanda players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
