Evert Hellqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Roger Hammarbäck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gustav Delin fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Älmestad BK's protests and gave Gustav Delin a yellow card for diving instead. Gustav Delin hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Sven-Åke Ahlqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bastuträsk's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven-Åke Ahlqvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charles Willig breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roger Hammarbäck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustav Delin in the 32nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Älmestad BK's Joakim Hedvall slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Roger Hammarbäck. That made the score 1-0 after 34 minutes of play. Sven-Åke Ahlqvist's late challenge caught a Älmestad BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sven-Åke Ahlqvist helped the player get up and apologised. In the 37th match minute, Bastuträsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven-Åke Ahlqvist to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 41st minute by Joakim Hedvall got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Älmestad BK's Evert Hellqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Bastuträsk defense, Evert Hellqvist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roger Hammarbäck. The Bastuträsk fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roger Hammarbäck should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rutger Lindman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Bastuträsk's goal looked a bit too open when Joakim Hedvall came free, but Roger Hammarbäck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evert Hellqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Roger Hammarbäck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Evert Hellqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bastuträsk's Roger Hammarbäck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evert Hellqvist in the 60th minute of play. Joakim Hedvall's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roger Hammarbäck read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. If Evert Hellqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joakim Hedvall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stig Nyström during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Älmestad BK booed when Bastuträsk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stig Nyström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joakim Hedvall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roger Hammarbäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joakim Hedvall, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Joakim Hedvall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Älmestad BK had played much better football throughout.
