With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ragnar Berggren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Georg Benet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Charles Klack charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Charles Klack the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st match minute, Vänersborg IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles Klack to maneuver through the defense. Wictor Wenerdahl was extremely unlucky when he, in the 23rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Vänersborg IF's Stefan Wennerqvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Vänersborg IF from getting a goal against them. After 32 minutes of play, Vänersborg IF's Georg Benet made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ragnar Berggren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Börge Forsell, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Maximilian Kvarnström was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Allmäna Fotbolls Klubben's Maximilian Kvarnström got a free kick in the 66th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Georg Benet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vänersborg IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Georg Benet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ragnar Berggren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Georg Benet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Ragnar Berggren made a huge save. Georg Benet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Ragnar Berggren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Björn Holm's late challenge caught a Allmäna Fotbolls Klubben's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Björn Holm helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Allmäna Fotbolls Klubben booed when Vänersborg IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Björn Holm didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 87 played minutes, Allmäna Fotbolls Klubben's Bengt Asserlind shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Stefan Wennerqvist came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Allmäna Fotbolls Klubben reached it. Bengt Asserlind hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Alf Kruuse was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 91st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 95 minutes into the game, Vänersborg IF's Börge Forsell nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ragnar Berggren made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Vänersborg IF's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
