In the 10th minute of the game, Jan-Åke Palmkvist landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 10 minutes into the game, Roger Askestät was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Väddö's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Himmelsblå the free kick. After a rather tough play, Väddö's Roger Askestät got a free kick in the 11th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Himmelsblå's Kennet Kolberg broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Bengt-Rune Bjursell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilbert Anundsson having to interfere. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Väddö's goalkeeper Gilbert Anundsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Christer Hammarström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilbert Anundsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Utter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th match minute, Väddö was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by August Apelkvist to maneuver through the defense. Gilbert Anundsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcus Utter, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Verner Valström kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Viggo Nordström. That made the score 1-0 in the 30 minute of play. Andy Stenström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Marcus Utter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilbert Anundsson having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Andy Stenström left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Himmelsblå fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Roger Askestät kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After 67 played minutes Väddö got a freekick which was hit by Roger Askestät. A collision led to Väddö getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Sebastian Ånger hit a great ball. In the 69th minute of the match Kennet Kolberg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gilbert Anundsson skillfully saved the ball. If Marcus Utter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Väddö's Gilbert Anundsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Väddö from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Marcus Utter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Himmelsblå's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcus Utter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gilbert Anundsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andy Stenström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilbert Anundsson having to interfere. Marcus Utter blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gilbert Anundsson having to make a save. A collision led to Väddö getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. August Apelkvist hit a great ball. In the 88th match minute, Väddö was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Åke Hernström to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute of the match Himmelsblå got a corner. Väddö's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kennet Kolberg ran over to the corner to take the kick. Himmelsblå's Kennet Kolberg was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gilbert Anundsson in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a little luck, Väddö's Gilbert Anundsson got control of the ball when Marcus Utter tried to sneak it across the goal line. Himmelsblå's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
