In the 22nd minute Claes Runberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melker Borre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Knut Ståhlman got free with Olle Jakobsson in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Gideå getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Harry Bergvall hit a great ball. Eskil Sandberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Olle Jakobsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olle Jakobsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eskil Sandberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Sven-Oskar Lind hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. If Felix Sellberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Knut Ståhlman might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olle Jakobsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Knut Ståhlman ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Claes Runberg made the kick off in the second half. Claes Runberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. When Knut Ståhlman came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Skövde FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Knut Ståhlman couldn't finish the play. Henning Asserlind charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henning Asserlind the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Harry Bergvall during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 82 played minutes Gideå got a freekick which was hit by Harry Bergvall. In the 84th minute, Eskil Sandberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
