The tension between the Hvetlanda gif and the Holmön players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 22 played minutes Hvetlanda gif got a freekick which was hit by Joakim Gunnarsson. Sven-Olof Almstedt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Juhlin, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Despite this Sven-Olof Almstedt quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Hvetlanda gif's Hans Juhlin got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sven-Olof Almstedt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Torsten Alefors in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anton Igelström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sven-Olof Almstedt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Hvetlanda gif fully deserved thier win.
