Gilbert Ekström came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Ekeby's Iustin Bănățeanu. But to his dismay, Iustin Bănățeanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Lima IFK booed when Ekeby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jens Fernkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Iustin Bănățeanu struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Gilbert Ekström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ekeby. Andréas Torstensson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Dan Panțâru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Iustin Bănățeanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 27th minute, Lima IFK's Andreas Sundberg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. 34 minutes into the match, Ekeby's Iustin Bănățeanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilbert Ekström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aykut Tükelalp hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Andréas Torstensson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Dan Panțâru made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andreas Sundberg during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Menno Heijer to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Ekeby getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Aykut Tükelalp hit a great ball. In the 55th minute, Andréas Torstensson made a precise shot to the right of Dan Panțâru. Ekeby's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Ekeby's Jerry Olsmann was substituted for Iustin Bănățeanu. In the 71st play minute Menno Heijer came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gilbert Ekström. 2-2. A collision led to Ekeby getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Hieronim Basaik hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andréas Torstensson in the 84th minute of play forced Ekeby's goalkeeper Dan Panțâru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ekeby's Aykut Tükelalp got a free kick in the 91st minute. Ekeby succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Lima IFK had controlled the match.
