The supporters of Påarp booed when Rönnäng IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sonny Löfgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Esbjörn Wennersten struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Eskil Sundberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rönnäng IK. After 22 played minutes Påarp got a freekick which was hit by Torsten Lindmark. Rönnäng IK's Staffan Sjö played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Kvalfält in the 24th minute of play. When Sonny Löfgren fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rönnäng IK's protests and gave Sonny Löfgren a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th minute, Sonny Löfgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sven-Åke Lundgren kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Staffan Sjö showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ted Kvalfält, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. After a rather tough play, Rönnäng IK's Sonny Löfgren got a free kick in the 31st minute. After having played for 33 minutes, Ted Kvalfält managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Påarp's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ted Kvalfält was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Rönnäng IK's goal looked a bit too open when Björn Håkansson came free, but Staffan Sjö reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 41 played minutes Rönnäng IK got a freekick which was hit by Anthon Vallin. Åke Sundén might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Staffan Sjö. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Åke Sundén ran back to his position shaking his head. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After 59 minutes, Peter Bergqvist mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Påarp and the Rönnäng IK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Påarp walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
