Mertinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arne Björkkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 16 minutes into the match, Arne Björkkvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Harald Holmgren. Sexdrega IFK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arne Björkkvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The tension between the Sexdrega IFK and the Mertinho players grew even worse after the yellow card. Patrik Walroth hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Arne Olsman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Harald Holmgren. Sexdrega IFK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Sexdrega IFK's Harald Holmgren got control of the ball when Arne Björkkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mertinho's Kristoffer Sjödin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ola Myhr in the 29th minute of play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ola Myhr stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Charlie Algren came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Mertinho fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Charlie Algren couldn't finish the play. Arne Björkkvist struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Harald Holmgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mertinho. Charlie Algren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harald Holmgren having to interfere. Harald Holmgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Algren in the 59th minute of play.
