The audience was convinced that Herbert Lundin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kurt Vacker was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Fredrik Lundkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute, Herbert Lundin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Västerås IFK's Gottfrid Sundström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Hök in the 29th minute of play. In the 31st minute of the match Norra Skånska IF got a corner. Västerås IFK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kristoffer Forss ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Norra Skånska IF's corner Kristoffer Forss fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gottfrid Sundström quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Norra Skånska IF booed when Västerås IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hubert Caspersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Herbert Lundin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Västerås IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Herbert Lundin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Fredrik Lundkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Herbert Lundin to make the kick off. After 54 played minutes Västerås IFK got a freekick which was hit by Carl Myhr. With a little luck, Västerås IFK's Gottfrid Sundström got control of the ball when Fabian Hök tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Västerås IFK's Hubert Caspersson got a free kick in the 56th minute. After having played for 65 minutes, Fredrik Lundkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Västerås IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fredrik Lundkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kurt Vacker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herbert Lundin in the 69th minute of the match. Birger Rolandsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Fabian Hök had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fredrik Lundkvist in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kurt Vacker saved Norra Skånska IF from getting behind. 79 minutes into the match, Västerås IFK's Herbert Lundin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kurt Vacker narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 92 minutes into the match, Norra Skånska IF's goal looked a bit too open when Herbert Lundin came free, but Kurt Vacker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fredrik Lundkvist struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Kurt Vacker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Västerås IFK. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Herbert Lundin in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kurt Vacker prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Västerås IFK lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
