The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Richard Eklund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Helge Alebeck having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Olsfors's Philip Sigman got a free kick in the 5th minute. 8 minutes into the match, Bergets FC's goal looked a bit too open when Göran Alfors came free, but Max Lindberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute, Bergets FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Olof Pihlberg fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Richard Eklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Duset kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Marc Danielsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bergets FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Olsfors the free kick. A collision led to Bergets FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Marc Danielsson hit a great ball. Max Lindberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Göran Alfors, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 30th minute, but Max Lindberg got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Bergets FC hanging dry this time. Richard Eklund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Helge Alebeck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Richard Eklund came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Bergets FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richard Eklund couldn't finish the play. In the 38th match minute, Olsfors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andréas Möller to maneuver through the defense. If Hans Wennerquist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emanuel Duset sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olof Pihlberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Max Lindberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Olof Pihlberg ran back to his position shaking his head. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Malte Kjellkvist took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Max Lindberg. Bergets FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Olof Pihlberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Max Lindberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olof Pihlberg in the 69th minute of the match. Max Lindberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Göran Alfors in the 71st minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Bergets FC's Hans Wennerquist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Helge Alebeck narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hans Wennerquist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
