After having played for 3 minutes, Eskil Öfverman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Örebro FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eskil Öfverman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gösta Sjögren hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Eskil Öfverman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 11th of the match, Jörgen Jönsson tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Michael Bäckman got in the way and made a wonderful save. Jörn Fredriksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eskil Öfverman in the 14th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Gubbarna från Ekeby's Gösta Sjögren got a free kick in the 16th minute. After 17 played minutes Gubbarna från Ekeby got a freekick which was hit by Gösta Sjögren. Helge Rosendahl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Jörn Fredriksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gubbarna från Ekeby's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dennis Wallgren in the 49th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eskil Öfverman was the one to do the kick off. Jörn Fredriksson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Helge Rosendahl in the 53rd minute. After 57 minutes of play, Gubbarna från Ekeby's Egon Petersson made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Michael Bäckman was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Jörgen Jönsson in the 60th minute of play forced Örebro FF's goalkeeper Michael Bäckman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jörgen Jönsson in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Michael Bäckman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Michael Bäckman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Vase in the 72nd minute of the match. The Gubbarna från Ekeby fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when Gubbarna från Ekeby's Jörgen Jönsson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 83 minutes into the match, Örebro FF's goal looked a bit too open when Jörgen Jönsson came free, but Michael Bäckman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute, one of Gubbarna från Ekeby:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gubbarna från Ekeby. A collision led to Örebro FF getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Jan Blom hit a great ball. Jörgen Jönsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Michael Bäckman . Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jörgen Jönsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Eskil Öfverman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 96th minute, Jörgen Jönsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Axel Vase had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
