An unexpectedly hard shot by Olle Thidén in the 7th minute of play forced Mölndal's goalkeeper Billy Waller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Felix Östensson took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Billy Waller to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Mölndal booed when Timmernabben IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo-Erik Karlsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Per Hagström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mats Andreasson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute Felix Östensson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Billy Waller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Felix Östensson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Edvard Nordkvist fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mölndal's protests and gave Edvard Nordkvist a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Timmernabben IF booed when Mölndal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edvard Nordkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felix Östensson in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Billy Waller prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Felix Östensson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Billy Waller was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 30 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Felix Östensson sped through Mölndal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Billy Waller. 41 minutes into the match, Mölndal's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Östensson came free, but Billy Waller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mats Andreasson to strike the kick off in the second half. Per Hagström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valentin Stenkvist in the 56th minute. After having played for 65 minutes, Örjan Apelkvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Timmernabben IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Örjan Apelkvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A beautiful save bye Mölndal's goalie prevented a goal. Billy Waller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Östensson, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. There was no doubt that Timmernabben IF were the better team. Timmernabben IF's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
