After having played for 7 minutes, Jonas Ekeroth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gunnarskog IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonas Ekeroth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ernst Malmström, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Martin Pettersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingemar Melberg in the 16th minute of play forced Gunnarskog IFK's goalkeeper Mathias Lövkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Gunnarskog IFK getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Stig Termander hit a great ball. When Harry Johnsson fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gunnarskog IFK's protests and gave Harry Johnsson a yellow card for diving instead. Ernst Malmström, 18 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Ingemar Melberg came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Boda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ingemar Melberg couldn't finish the play. When Martin Pettersson came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Boda fans jumped to their feet. In the 27th match minute, Gunnarskog IFK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stig Termander to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Lundström in the 29th minute of play forced Boda's goalkeeper Alexander Martinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 32 minutes, Stig Termander mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gunnarskog IFK and the Boda players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Boda booed when Gunnarskog IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stig Termander didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 34 played minutes Gunnarskog IFK got a freekick which was hit by Jakob Sander. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonas Ekeroth got free with Alexander Martinsson in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Martin Pettersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 45 played minutes Boda got a freekick which was hit by Ingemar Melberg. Jonas Ekeroth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ingemar Melberg made a kick off. Alexander Martinsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martin Lundström's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Ingemar Melberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute Ingemar Melberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Lövkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Pettersson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 65 minutes, Martin Lundström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gunnarskog IFK and the Boda players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, Gunnarskog IFK's Mathias Lövkvist got control of the ball when Martin Pettersson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ingemar Melberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 76th minute Ingemar Melberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathias Lövkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th minute of the match Ernst Malmström sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mathias Lövkvist skillfully saved the ball. With a little luck, Gunnarskog IFK's Mathias Lövkvist got control of the ball when Martin Pettersson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Ingemar Melberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Ingemar Melberg kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mathias Lövkvist. That made the score 0-1 in the 93 minute of play. When the match was over Boda could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gunnarskog IFK throughout the match.
