The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tobias Fastesson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sten Landin in the 3rd minute of the match. Vallda's Leo Tomasson got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tobias Fastesson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sonny Malmberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. The Vallda fans' excitement grew in the 19th match minute when Vallda's Leo Tomasson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tobias Fastesson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Tomasson, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Vallda getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Edwin Kinnman hit a great ball. Leo Tomasson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Fastesson having to interfere. Sonny Malmberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sonny Malmberg in the 44th minute of play forced Lima IF's goalkeeper Tobias Fastesson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 46 played minutes Vallda got a freekick which was hit by Fredric Duset. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sonny Malmberg was the one to do the kick off. Albert Ström hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. 53 minutes into the game, Mats Sandwall was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lima IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vallda the free kick. After 53 played minutes Lima IF got a freekick which was hit by Mats Sandwall. Leo Tomasson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tobias Fastesson having to interfere. Leo Tomasson kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, Bertil Billvall had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sune Bjursell. Vallda's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bertil Billvall was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sonny Malmberg in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tobias Fastesson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 74 minutes into the game, Sonny Malmberg lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Tobias Fastesson. With a little luck, Lima IF's Tobias Fastesson got control of the ball when Leo Tomasson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vallda's Leo Tomasson got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sonny Malmberg struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Tobias Fastesson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vallda. Sten Landin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tobias Fastesson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Edwin Kinnman kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Vallda left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Lima IF.
