The crowd rose to their feet as Gästrike-hammarby's Ivar Eklund slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Göran Malmberg. That made the score 1-0 after 10 minutes of play. 13 minutes into the match, Märsta FK's goal looked a bit too open when Ivar Eklund came free, but Göran Malmberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Gästrike-hammarby's zone, Thor Johansson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Rosen came out of the goal and Thor Johansson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thor Johansson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. William Rosen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute Johan Törnblom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Rosen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Alvin Hellgren could shoot a difficult shot in the 22nd minute, which Göran Malmberg however easily saved by the left post. Göran Malmberg was a little too slow when Alvin Hellgren got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 2-0. Ivar Eklund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvin Hellgrens short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Göran Malmberg to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 34th minute, Gästrike-hammarby's Ivar Eklund dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Göran Malmberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivar Eklund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. William Rosen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thor Johansson in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Gästrike-hammarby's Kalle Koch got a free kick in the 46th minute. When Mikael Knutsson fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gästrike-hammarby's protests and gave Mikael Knutsson a yellow card for diving instead. 48 minutes into the game, one of Gästrike-hammarby:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Johan Törnblom to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Thor Johansson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 57th minute, Leo Täman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. William Rosen didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 61st minute, which inside left pole to 3-1. In the 66th minute, Thor Johansson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Märsta FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Alvin Hellgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Märsta FK's Göran Malmberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivar Eklund in the 72nd minute of play. In the 82nd minute of the match Kalle Koch shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Göran Malmberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Gästrike-hammarby getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Kalle Koch hit a great ball. If Thor Johansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvin Hellgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Gästrike-hammarby's Casper Kilstedt got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Johan Törnblom struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. William Rosen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Märsta FK. William Rosen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johan Törnblom in the 97th minute of the match. Gästrike-hammarby's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
