Malte Säfström started the match with the kick off. Robin Browald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 10 played minutes Västervik got a freekick which was hit by Georg Öberg. Robin Browald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Mathias Björck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Övre Soppero FK booed when Västervik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herman Dusett didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes in the game, Malte Säfström fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Mathias Björck having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robin Browald got free with Mathias Björck in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 55th minute, Malte Säfström made a precise shot to the right of Mathias Björck. Västervik's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Malte Säfström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Övre Soppero FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Malte Säfström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mathias Björck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Västervik getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Albert Vesterberg hit a great ball. In the 70th minute Jens-Ove Böcklund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulf Valler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Västervik's zone, Robin Browald stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mathias Björck came out of the goal and Robin Browald tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Övre Soppero FK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Västervik had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
