Artemio Mateo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Jonasson, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Albin Eckegren hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Anton Sillén took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kristian Unesson. Kristian Unesson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 21 minutes into the match, Anfield Reds's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Jonasson came free, but Artemio Mateo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Artemio Mateo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony Jonasson in the 26th minute of the match. If Tobias Lundström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Artemio Mateo made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Timmy Billvall sent off a good shot on target. Kristian Unesson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anton Sillén, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Artemio Mateo was a little too slow when Tony Jonasson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 2-1. Artemio Mateo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tony Jonasson, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Timmy Billvall got free with Artemio Mateo in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Artemio Mateo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Timmy Billvall went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Artemio Mateo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joakim Berggren, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Jonasson in the 61st minute of play forced Anfield Reds's goalkeeper Artemio Mateo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Anton Sillén came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Anfield Reds fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anton Sillén couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Mullsjö IF booed when Anfield Reds was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan-Olof Andersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute of the match Jens-Åke Tunander sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Artemio Mateo skillfully saved the ball. After 72 minutes, Osvald Fernström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mullsjö IF and the Anfield Reds players grew even worse after the yellow card. Osvald Fernström kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Joakim Berggren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Artemio Mateo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joakim Berggren in the 83rd minute of the match. Mullsjö IF's Kristian Unesson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Mullsjö IF from getting a goal against them. Jens-Ove Arvidsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristian Unesson having to interfere. Artemio Mateo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvald Fernström in the 94th minute of play. Ted Hybbert kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. In the 96th minute of the match Karl-Erik Jespersson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Artemio Mateo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Mullsjö IF were victorious despite being under pressure from Anfield Reds for much of the match.
