Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The supporters of Huskvarna booed when Lyckeby BF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliver Nyman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edvard Gustafsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Fredric Gudmundsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edvard Gustafsson got free with Fredric Gudmundsson in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 41st minute, Jim Hydén got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kjell Lundkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bengt Björklund, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Lyckeby BF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Huskvarna:s goal. Dag Karlsson walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ingvar Täman to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Edvard Gustafsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huskvarna's supporters rose to their feet, but Edvard Gustafsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 97th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lyckeby BF's goalkeeper Fredric Gudmundsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
