The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Stavsjö FF's Ulrik Forsberg got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ronny Kalfhage received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Eskil Falkrantz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gösta Axelsson charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gösta Axelsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of DIF CharlesTown booed when Stavsjö FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gösta Axelsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ulrik Forsberg in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eskil Falkrantz saved DIF CharlesTown from getting behind. In the 23rd minute, Jesper Klack hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Walter Ekman during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Walter Ekman kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Eskil Falkrantz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ulrik Forsberg's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Robert Lagerberg charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a rather tough play, DIF CharlesTown's Robert Lagerberg got a free kick in the 31st minute. 35 minutes into the match, DIF CharlesTown's goal looked a bit too open when Ulrik Forsberg came free, but Eskil Falkrantz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. DIF CharlesTown's Eskil Falkrantz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulrik Forsberg in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute Ronny Kalfhage shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eskil Falkrantz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert Lagerberg was shown his second yellow card after 38 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to DIF CharlesTown getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Robert Lagerberg hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Täman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Ronny Kalfhage had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulrik Forsberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ulrik Forsberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eskil Falkrantz having to interfere. In the 57th minute, DIF CharlesTown's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ronny Kalfhage fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. DIF CharlesTown's Eskil Falkrantz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save DIF CharlesTown from getting a goal against them. David Täman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Wictor Dahlbom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walter Ekman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Wictor Dahlbom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Täman in the 72nd minute of play. After 73 played minutes Stavsjö FF got a freekick which was hit by Richard Arhenius. With his leg Eskil Falkrantz managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Stavsjö FF's Ronny Kalfhage fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 79th minute, Ronny Kalfhage fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Ronny Kalfhage fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eskil Falkrantz having to interfere. When Sakarias Odeen was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 90 minutes had been played. Stavsjö FF's Ronny Kalfhage came free and shot a quick shot against goal 92 minutes in the game, fortunately Eskil Falkrantz had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 93rd minute of the match, Ulrik Forsberg tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Eskil Falkrantz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The DIF CharlesTown fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Stavsjö FF were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
