Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Stockholm United's Jan-Erik Månsson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Staffanstorp defense, Jan-Erik Månsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Håkan Persson. The Staffanstorp fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Håkan Persson should have stopped the shot. If Calle Andersson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th match minute, Staffanstorp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nils Hägg to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute of the match Henry Albom shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Håkan Persson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Staffanstorp's Håkan Persson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarl Vik in the 18th minute of play. Calle Anderssons short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Johan Grelsson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Johan Grelsson stood somewhat misplaced when Calle Andersson came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 19 minute. Håkan Persson came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Stockholm United's Jan-Erik Månsson. But to his dismay, Jan-Erik Månsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stockholm United's goalkeeper Johan Grelsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Johan Grelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arne Wennerlund in the 29th minute of the match. Hubert Vennerberg hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. If Jan-Erik Månsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Håkan Persson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan-Erik Månsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ingvar Hybbert got free with Johan Grelsson in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nils Hägg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 44 played minutes Stockholm United got a freekick which was hit by Sverker Asserlind. In the 48th minute, Arne Wennerlund fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Johan Grelsson, passed just outside the right post. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
Håkan Persson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Erik Månsson in the 53rd minute of play. Staffanstorp's Calle Andersson got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Stockholm United's Hubert Vennerberg got a free kick in the 60th minute. Arne Wennerlund scored 2-2 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Johan Grelsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Arne Wennerlund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan-Erik Månsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Håkan Persson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vilgot Eskilsson went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. In the 74th minute, Arne Wennerlund left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Staffanstorp fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. In the 79th minute, Calle Andersson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Calle Andersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johan Grelsson having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingvar Hybbert in the 93rd minute of play forced Stockholm United's goalkeeper Johan Grelsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
