The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Leif Harman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Leif Harman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jon Backman charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jon Backman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Banck Boys booed when Emm Sjuttio Fem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon Backman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leif Harman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dag Carlberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sven-Olof Månsson's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Banck Boys's Jörn Wallin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bengt-Arne Löfgren. That made the score 1-0 after 25 minutes of play. Leif Harman charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leif Harman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Banck Boys's Dag Carlberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Olof Månsson in the 32nd minute of play. Sven-Olof Månsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dag Carlberg having to interfere. Sven-Olof Månsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Dag Carlberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leif Harman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt-Arne Löfgren having to interfere. Jörn Wallin struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Bengt-Arne Löfgren didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Banck Boys. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jörn Wallin to make the kick off. Leif Harman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt-Arne Löfgren having to interfere. Emm Sjuttio Fem's Edvard Vennerlund got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Emm Sjuttio Fem's Edvard Vennerlund sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dag Carlberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sven-Olof Månsson's late challenge caught a Banck Boys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sven-Olof Månsson helped the player get up and apologised. Bengt-Arne Löfgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jörn Wallin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emm Sjuttio Fem's Bengt-Arne Löfgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leif Harman in the 73rd minute of play. If Leif Harman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leif Harman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bengt-Arne Löfgren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. In the 87th minute Edvard Vennerlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dag Carlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl Sundström charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Karl Sundström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Emm Sjuttio Fem players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
