The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lilla edet's Aleksander Melberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Dahlgren in the 3rd minute of play. If Jan-Olof Odeen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aleksander Melberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of John Dahlgren's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Lilla edet's Yngve Alefors broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Jan-Olof Odeen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Folke Björkman having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Melker Sjö during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 24th minute, Melker Sjö hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Älvsjö defense, Jan-Olof Odeen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Folke Björkman. The Älvsjö fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Folke Björkman should have stopped the shot. Älvsjö's Folke Björkman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Älvsjö from getting a goal against them. 38 minutes into the match, Lilla edet's Gilbert Hedin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Folke Björkman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aaron Vestlund during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Älvsjö getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Aaron Vestlund hit a great ball. An unexpected shot in the 49th minute by Jan-Olof Odeen got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John Dahlgren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Aleksander Melberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Dahlgren, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Lilla edet's Aleksander Melberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Dahlgren in the 58th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Lilla edet's goal looked a bit too open when John Dahlgren came free, but Aleksander Melberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. John Dahlgren kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Lilla edet's goalkeeper Aleksander Melberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fredrik Uggstedt. John Dahlgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleksander Melberg having to interfere. John Dahlgren struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Aleksander Melberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Älvsjö. 78 minutes into the match, Lilla edet's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Erik Svensson came free, but Aleksander Melberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jan-Olof Odeen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Folke Björkman having to interfere. After 82 minutes of play, Lilla edet's Jan-Olof Odeen made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Folke Björkman was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gilbert Hedin in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Folke Björkman saved Älvsjö from getting behind. After 89 played minutes Lilla edet got a freekick which was hit by Yngve Alefors. Fredrik Uggstedt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 94th minute of the match Aaron Vestlund completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Aaron Vestlund a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Älvsjö's Aaron Vestlund got a free kick in the 95th minute. Lilla edet's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
