Lindesberg's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sven-Edvin Martinsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 10 minutes into the match, Lindesberg's goalkeeper Claes Enström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niklas Wiberg. Östen Västerberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Claes Enström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claes Enström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Östen Västerberg in the 21st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Östen Västerberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Claes Enström was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Thor Lundström charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thor Lundström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute of the match Lindesberg got a corner. Hallstahammar IK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ludvig Sikström ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Lindesberg's Sture Gulliksson to fire away a dangerous shot which Johan Frisk despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Claes Enström didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 30th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Johan Frisk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven-Edvin Martinsson in the 33rd minute of the match. Sven Eliasson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claes Enström having to interfere. Niklas Wiberg made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 44thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Claes Enström would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lindesberg's goalkeeper Claes Enström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 47 minutes in the game, Östen Västerberg fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Claes Enström having to interfere. Niklas Wiberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claes Enström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Sture Gulliksson charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sture Gulliksson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Hallstahammar IK booed when Lindesberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sture Gulliksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claes Enström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niklas Wiberg in the 59th minute of the match. Niklas Wiberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Claes Enström having to make a save. Sven-Edvin Martinsson's late challenge caught a Hallstahammar IK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sven-Edvin Martinsson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 65th match minute, Lindesberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven-Edvin Martinsson to maneuver through the defense. After 66 played minutes Lindesberg got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Edvin Martinsson. Sven-Edvin Martinsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Johan Frisk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Hallstahammar IK getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Sven Eliasson hit a great ball. Claes Enström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niklas Wiberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. The supporters of Lindesberg booed when Hallstahammar IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sakarias Näver didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niklas Wiberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Claes Enström having to make a save. Sven-Edvin Martinsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. When Henrik Eskilsson fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hallstahammar IK's protests and gave Henrik Eskilsson a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Hallstahammar IK getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Henrik Eskilsson hit a great ball. Niklas Wiberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Sture Gulliksson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lindesberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Sture Gulliksson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Johan Frisk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Sven-Edvin Martinsson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Hallstahammar IK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lindesberg had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
