The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Ove Gulliksson in the 3rd minute of play forced IFK Barcelona's goalkeeper Folke Glad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to IFK Barcelona getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Olof Hamnberg hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Börje Jonsson during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Vallda IK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 5th minute. Penalty! The referee gave IFK Barcelona a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tage Söderberg, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vallda IK's Conny Lund. 0-1. Conny Lund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joar Hallgren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erik Sundström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Folke Glad made a huge save. Conny Lund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joar Hallgren in the 20th minute of the match. A collision led to Vallda IK getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Birger Tönnberg hit a great ball. Karl-Ove Gulliksson hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute of the match Tage Söderberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Conny Lund showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Einar Snell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28thth minute of the game Joar Hallgren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vallda IK's Conny Lund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Erik Sundström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Folke Glad having to interfere. Karl-Ove Gulliksson hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Tage Söderberg was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 37th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After the first half IFK Barcelona were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Emil Byström made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes, IFK Barcelona's Tage Söderberg shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Conny Lund came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in IFK Barcelona reached it. Joar Hallgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conny Lund having to interfere. The supporters of IFK Barcelona booed when Vallda IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Birger Tönnberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Joar Hallgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joar Hallgren's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute, Conny Lund skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After having played for 64 minutes, Erik Sundström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vallda IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erik Sundström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Karl-Ove Gulliksson charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Karl-Ove Gulliksson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 79 minutes of play, Vallda IK's Erik Sundström made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Folke Glad was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vallda IK fans cheered their team off the field, for while IFK Barcelona had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
