Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Alf Tomasson started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the game, Maria Sportverein's Bengt Harlén nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christian Caspersson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A collision led to Maria Sportverein getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Adam Säv hit a great ball. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sandby IF's goalkeeper Christian Caspersson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Alf Tomasson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Johannes Runeberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Göran Tönnberg in the 16th minute. Adam Säv kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Maria Sportverein's Göran Deckberg got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 23rd minute Bengt Harlén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Caspersson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandby IF's Christian Caspersson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dan Rudqvist in the 24th minute of play. Johannes Runeberg made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Göran Tönnberg sent off a good shot on target. An unexpected shot in the 29th minute by Olov Tunander got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 30th minute, Göran Tönnberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Göran Tönnbergs short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Johannes Runeberg to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 37th minute Alf Tomasson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johannes Runeberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, one of Sandby IF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bengt Harlén was the one to do the kick off. Johannes Runeberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Göran Tönnberg's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. In the 55th match minute, Maria Sportverein was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Säv to maneuver through the defense. Christian Caspersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bengt Harlén, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Sandby IF's Christian Caspersson got control of the ball when Dan Rudqvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 66 minutes, Dan Rudqvist made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Sandby IF's Christian Caspersson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Göran Tönnberg struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Johannes Runeberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sandby IF. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt Harlén in the 79th minute of play forced Sandby IF's goalkeeper Christian Caspersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maria Sportverein's Johannes Runeberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Göran Tönnberg in the 82nd minute of play. When Bengt Harlén came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Maria Sportverein fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bengt Harlén couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Sandby IF getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Olov Tunander hit a great ball. Bengt Harlén had several of the Sandby IF's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 91 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed Christian Caspersson as he didn't even see the shot coming.
