Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Alvar Borre took the kick off in the first half of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jimmy Stenquist in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nils Backman saved Kärna IK from getting behind. In the 8th minute Göran Hedman suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. The supporters of Sparreholm booed when Kärna IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fredrik Björnberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcus Harmans short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Nils Backman to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dick Svanér received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Nils Backman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kärna IK's Nils Backman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Kärna IK from getting a goal against them. Edmund Kleen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alvar Borre's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Ronny Henriksson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmund Kleen having to interfere. A collision led to Sparreholm getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Jimmy Stenquist hit a great ball. Alvar Borre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmund Kleen having to interfere. In the 26th minute, Johan Botvidsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute Ronny Henriksson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmund Kleen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronny Henriksson might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edmund Kleen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ronny Henriksson ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Harman got free with Nils Backman in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 34 minutes into the match, Jimmy Stenquist notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Kärna IK's Nils Backman. Nils Backman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 37 minutes into the game, Christian Jonasson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kärna IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sparreholm the free kick. In the 37th match minute, Kärna IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Jonasson to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 41 minutes, Ronny Henriksson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kärna IK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronny Henriksson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Kärna IK fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Kärna IK's Alvar Borre looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcus Harman to make the kick off. The supporters of Sparreholm booed when Kärna IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inge Pihl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Martin Sundström took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nils Backman. Kärna IK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Harman in the 56th minute of play forced Kärna IK's goalkeeper Nils Backman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus Harman struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Nils Backman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sparreholm. In the 65th match minute, Kärna IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fredrik Björnberg to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Harman in the 67th minute of play forced Kärna IK's goalkeeper Nils Backman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Kärna IK getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Inge Pihl hit a great ball. Johan Botvidsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcus Harman struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Nils Backman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sparreholm. Nils Backman came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Sparreholm's Johan Botvidsson. But to his dismay, Johan Botvidsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Edmund Kleen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvar Borre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd minute, Alvar Borre fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Ronny Henriksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Edmund Kleen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Kärna IK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sparreholm.
