An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens-Åke Barck in the 33rd minute of play forced Tollered IF's goalkeeper Kim Wickander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Målles Mål's Karl-Johan Backlund got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Jens-Åke Barck sped through Tollered IF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kim Wickander. If Karl-Johan Backlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 47 minutes into the match, Målles Mål's Karl-Johan Backlund sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kim Wickander narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Egil Siöman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Magne Nyström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tony Vallin kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Kim Wickander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Johan Backlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Börje Ahlén might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kim Wickander. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Börje Ahlén ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 86th minute, Axel Söderberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kim Wickander made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jens-Åke Barck in the 88th minute. In the 92nd minute, Målles Mål's Karl-Johan Backlund dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. In the 96th minute, Karl-Johan Backlund fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post.
