A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Diö BK's zone, Egil Vallander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vilhelm Pihlwall came out of the goal and Egil Vallander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 16 minutes into the match, Oxelösund's goal looked a bit too open when Gösta Torsberg came free, but Tom Wennerberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anders Skarkman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oxelösund's supporters crossed their fingers, but Egil Vallander was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Hugo Löfgren fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Diö BK's protests and gave Hugo Löfgren a yellow card for diving instead. Hugo Löfgren hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Oxelösund's Tom Wennerberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Oxelösund from getting a goal against them. If Egil Vallander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The long shot by Alvin Askelöf in the 39th minute really tested Tom Wennerberg's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 40 minutes into the game, Thor Skröder was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oxelösund's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Diö BK the free kick. In the 40th minute, Thor Skröder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Gösta Torsberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Diö BK's supporters rose to their feet, but Gösta Torsberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tom Wennerberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sören Kruuse's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tom Wennerberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Gösta Torsberg reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tom Wennerberg. The goal made the score 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
During the 54th minute of the match Hugo Löfgren completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Hugo Löfgren a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Hugo Löfgren hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute Egil Vallander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vilhelm Pihlwall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oxelösund were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Diö BK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Folke Emander took the corner. Tom Wennerberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sören Kruuse in the 77th minute of the match. Anders Skarkman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Vilhelm Pihlwall made a huge save. The Diö BK support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
