After 8 played minutes Blue Fish FC got a freekick which was hit by Herbert Björling. Åtvidaberg BK's Rutger Tunberg got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The attack was good, but when Rutger Tunberg in the 11th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 16 minutes into the game, Jimmy Wallin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Jens-Ola Viberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ola Olofsson in the 21st minute of play forced Åtvidaberg BK's goalkeeper Jens-Ola Viberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stig Åberg kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Ola Olofsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens-Ola Viberg having to interfere. 29 minutes into the game, Kjell Lundqvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Åtvidaberg BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Blue Fish FC the free kick. Kjell Lundqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Åtvidaberg BK's goal looked a bit too open when Ola Olofsson came free, but Jens-Ola Viberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rutger Tunberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kaj Karlsson got free with Charlie Ahlbeck in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match clock showed 41 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Ola Olofsson sped through Åtvidaberg BK's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jens-Ola Viberg. In the 46th minute Ola Olofsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jens-Ola Viberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ola Olofsson was the one to do the kick off. Charlie Ahlbeck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaj Karlsson in the 52nd minute of the match. After having played for 56 minutes, Kaj Karlsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Åtvidaberg BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaj Karlsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kaj Karlsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rutger Tunberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Charlie Ahlbeck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th match minute, Blue Fish FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Wahlström to maneuver through the defense. Blue Fish FC's Charlie Ahlbeck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kaj Karlsson in the 68th minute of play. If Rutger Tunberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Åtvidaberg BK's Jens-Ola Viberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ola Olofsson in the 74th minute of play. Åtvidaberg BK's Jens-Ola Viberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Åtvidaberg BK from getting a goal against them. Rutger Tunberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Chants of Blue Fish FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Åtvidaberg BK had held the ball for most of the match.
