With his leg Karl-Michael Abrahamsson managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when Gävle's Tomas Ekeroth fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Öregrund getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Lars-Erik Frykberg hit a great ball. Dan Söderqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Michael Abrahamsson having to interfere. Karl-Michael Abrahamsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Söderqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Dan Söderqvist showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Malte Björling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pål Wennerquist in the 53rd minute of the match. If Tomas Ekeroth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl-Michael Abrahamsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dan Söderqvist went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score.
