Säljeröd FF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 8 minutes into the match, Säljeröd FF's goal looked a bit too open when Orvar Backlund came free, but Alfons Berggren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leif Göransson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Säljeröd FF's zone, Orvar Backlund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfons Berggren came out of the goal and Orvar Backlund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maximilian Lund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Alfons Berggren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22ndth minute of the game Leif Göransson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VSK SK's Pål Odin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Leif Göransson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pål Odin. Leif Göransson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Dag Hurtig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leif Göransson might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pål Odin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leif Göransson ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 36th match minute, VSK SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaj Strömberg to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 41 minutes, Leif Göransson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Säljeröd FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leif Göransson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th minute, Orvar Backlund ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alfons Berggren was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maximilian Lund to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Leif Göransson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pål Odin was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. In the 54th minute of the match Lennart Holm sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pål Odin skillfully saved the ball. Pål Odin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leif Göransson in the 69th minute of play. Pål Odin came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Säljeröd FF's Ingvar Albohm. But to his dismay, Ingvar Albohm quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Fredrik Martinsson hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Leif Göransson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Säljeröd FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Leif Göransson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pål Odin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
