The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rickard Törnblom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Edwin Wahlström came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Holmens FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edwin Wahlström couldn't finish the play. Tage Bern hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After 16 minutes of play, Holmens FK's Edwin Wahlström made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eric Petersson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eric Petersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edwin Wahlström in the 19th minute of play. Rickard Törnblom scored 0-2 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eric Petersson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Holmens FK's Lars Snell got a free kick in the 24th minute. Kim Hedström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lars Snell hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 34 minutes into the game, Holmens FK's Rickard Törnblom nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eric Petersson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. If Edwin Wahlström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
Alexander Botvidsson's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Eric Petersson firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the last second Eric Petersson throw himself and got hold of the ball when Rickard Törnblom in the 58thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rickard Törnblom in the 62nd minute of play forced Stockamöllan's goalkeeper Eric Petersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute of the match Holmens FK got a corner. Stockamöllan's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sigvard Ahlin ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Holmens FK's Sigvard Ahlin to fire away a dangerous shot which Eric Petersson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Edwin Wahlström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eric Petersson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rickard Törnblom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the game, Isac Ström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stockamöllan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Holmens FK the free kick. Isac Ström kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Holmens FK's Sigvard Ahlin shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 71st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Eric Petersson but with some difficulty. When Rickard Törnblom came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Holmens FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rickard Törnblom couldn't finish the play. 82 minutes into the game, Lars Snell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lars Snell hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Stockamöllan's zone, Edwin Wahlström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eric Petersson came out of the goal and Edwin Wahlström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Rickard Törnblom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Stockamöllan's Gösta Söderman got a free kick in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rickard Törnblom in the 94th minute of play forced Stockamöllan's goalkeeper Eric Petersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Stockamöllan fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Holmens FK were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
