Västerhaninge's Lars Ström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrik Söderberg in the 11th minute of play. Sven Berggren kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. When Valdemar Lindberg came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Lyrestad FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdemar Lindberg couldn't finish the play. After 16 minutes of play, Lyrestad FF's Patrik Söderberg made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lars Ström was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 22nd minute, Valdemar Lindberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lars Ström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdemar Lindberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Sven Berggren fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Västerhaninge's protests and gave Sven Berggren a yellow card for diving instead. After 26 played minutes Västerhaninge got a freekick which was hit by Sven Berggren. Lars Ström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrik Söderberg in the 32nd minute of the match. Sebastian Håning received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Tage Sundström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Patrik Söderberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
Patrik Söderberg's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lars Ström firmly grabbed it by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Västerhaninge's zone, Patrik Söderberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lars Ström came out of the goal and Patrik Söderberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sebastian Håning took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tage Sundström. Tage Sundström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After a rather tough play, Västerhaninge's Per-Åke Björkman got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Sebastian Håning fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tage Sundström having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Patrik Söderberg fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Lars Ström, passed just outside the right post. Tage Sundström came out of the goal and Sebastian Håning tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sebastian Håning received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Tage Sundström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Lyrestad FF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lyrestad FF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
