Östen Tönnberg started the match with the kick off. Ola Berg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Svante Karlsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ola Berg in the 5th minute of play forced Frinnaryd IF's goalkeeper Svante Karlsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pål Andreasson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Svante Karlsson having to interfere. When Östen Tönnberg came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Frinnaryd IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Östen Tönnberg couldn't finish the play. Magnus Forsberg's late challenge caught a Frinnaryd IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Magnus Forsberg helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th match minute, Lidingö RK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Magnus Forsberg to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Östen Tönnberg in the 18th minute of play forced Lidingö RK's goalkeeper Jerry Vallgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Östen Tönnberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jerry Vallgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sten Axelsson in the 25th minute of the match. Ola Berg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Östen Tönnberg in the 36th minute of play forced Lidingö RK's goalkeeper Jerry Vallgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the game, Östen Tönnberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Jerry Vallgren was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kenneth Dahlberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lidingö RK's Jerry Vallgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Östen Tönnberg in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44th minute Östen Tönnberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerry Vallgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Jerry Vallgren didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kenneth Dahlberg went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The referee felt a red card was in order, 59 minutes into the game, when Jimmy Nordin put in a rough tackle. Magnus Forsberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Svante Karlsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 70 minutes, Staffan Hjeltman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lidingö RK and the Frinnaryd IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Staffan Hjeltman kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Pål Andreasson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the match, Lidingö RK's goal looked a bit too open when Börje Stabbe came free, but Jerry Vallgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Lidingö RK booed when Frinnaryd IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Börje Stabbe didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Lidingö RK's Svante Karlsson threw himself towards the right post 90 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ola Berg, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 95 minutes into the match, Frinnaryd IF's goalkeeper Svante Karlsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pål Andreasson. In the 97th match minute, Lidingö RK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Magnus Forsberg to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Frinnaryd IF had won after a very even match.
